Van Eyck predates all other artists in this collection…He is most famous for having painted the Lamb of God, an allegorical painting now hanging in Ghent Cathedral in Belgium. That was painted in the 16th century. Here we have two examples of his work, both fantastically detailed as if he wanted to take photographs.
