Wivenhoe Park

Wivenhoe Park

As a student on a Filbright fellowship in the USA in 1955 I arrived to Washington DC instensely uncomfortable because of the heat and humidity and not a little homesick after a year in the country. I found this painting within therelief of the National Art Gallery's air-conditioning.

On each visit to DC I go back to renew our acquaintance.
